The Ford engineering in the XF meant that it was mechanically a much more reliable device than any Jaguar before it. The good news is that you can forget most of what you know about Jaguar reliability based on the older models. But beyond its party pieces, is it any good? Which is another way of saying, it's still a sought-after used car. This might all sound a bit twee, but it helped give the XF Jaguar a bit of mystique, which it seems to have managed to hang on to over the years.

The solution was to turn their brightness up to full via the dashboard knob, but it took some owners a while to discover this function.
In a way, though, Jaguar was a bit too clever and those blue-lit instruments that looked so cool at night were too pale to be read clearly in daylight.
First, the air vents in the dashboard turned their eyes skywards to reveal themselves and, then, the mushroom-shaped knob that formed the gearshift poked silently through the centre console like a real mushroom in a nature documentary time-lapse shot. Pressing the start button made several things happen. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment.
